For most people, the call centre is the quickest official support route for SRD, appeals, and general grant enquiries. If you recently ran a SASSA status check online and need help with the result wording, tell the agent the exact month and the message you saw.

SASSA publishes 0800 60 10 11 as a toll-free number, and notes that toll-free calls are guaranteed on landlines, while calls from a cellphone may depend on your network. In practice, many callers can reach it from major SA mobile networks without airtime. If your call does not connect, use the alternative number 012 400 2322 or try again later.
