Clear answers to common SRD questions, including where to perform a SASSA Status Check, how appeals work, and what different outcomes mean.
This page is informational only and does not replace official SASSA platforms.
Is this an official SASSA website?
No. This website is an independent informational resource. It is not affiliated with SASSA, ITSAA, or any government department.
Where do I officially check my SRD status?
SRD application and status results are only available on the official SASSA portal:
https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status
This site explains what the results mean but does not perform official checks.
Why does my SRD status change every month?
SRD eligibility is assessed monthly. Changes in income data, identity verification, or linked grant records can affect your outcome for a specific month.
What does “Income Source Identified” mean?
It means SASSA detected funds linked to your ID or bank account during the assessed month. This may include non-salary deposits such as refunds, once-off transfers, or financial assistance.
Can I appeal every declined SRD month?
Appeals are submitted per month and reviewed independently.
You should only appeal if:
- The decline reason is incorrect for that month
- You met SRD eligibility requirements at the time
- You have evidence to support your appeal
Duplicate appeals for the same month are not allowed.
How do I submit or track an SRD appeal?
Appeals and appeal status tracking must be completed on the official SRD appeals portal:
https://srd.sassa.gov.za/appeals/appeal
Why was my appeal approved but no payment received yet?
An approved appeal means the original decline was overturned. Payment is processed during the standard SRD payment cycle and may take time depending on verification and payment method.
Does a declined appeal affect future SRD payments?
No. Each SRD month is assessed separately. A declined appeal does not prevent future eligibility if circumstances change.
Do you submit applications, appeals, or payments for users?
No. This website does not submit SRD applications, appeals, or payment requests. All official actions must be completed directly on SASSA platforms.
