SRD Application Required | Reapply on Official SASSA Portal

Submit a new SRD application, or reapply only when your SRD results explicitly show “Reapplication Required”. Jump to: Quick Navigation.

This page is for new applicants and for people whose SRD month results show Reapplication Required. If your status shows a different message (for example “Declined”), use the decline reasons hub to follow the correct fix and appeal pathway.

Who needs to apply or reapply

You should submit a new SRD application only in these situations:

  • You have never applied before
  • Your previous SRD application expired or is no longer active
  • No active application exists for the selected month
  • Your SRD result explicitly states “Reapplication Required”

SRD is assessed monthly. Therefore, your outcome can change from one month to the next based on eligibility checks for that month.

Before you apply

  • Do not submit multiple applications for the same period.
  • Use the correct ID number and phone number (the phone number matters for OTP/PIN steps).
  • Approval is not guaranteed: SASSA runs monthly eligibility checks.
  • Reapply only when the system tells you to: “Reapplication Required” is the main trigger.

If your status does not say “Reapplication Required”, do not reapply just to “refresh” your outcome. Instead, check the exact decline reason and follow the correct fix/appeal route. Use: SRD decline reasons hub.

Submit your SRD application

Applications must be submitted on the official SRD system. Use the button below to open the official application portal.

Open official SRD application portal

After submitting your application

  • Allow time for SASSA to process your application
  • Check your SRD status for the relevant month once processing begins
  • Only submit an appeal if a month is declined and the decline reason is incorrect

Once processing has started, you can return to the SRD status tool to track the outcome for the selected month.
